Against my better judgement, we got a kitten. Why? The kids LOVE their babysitter's cat. They love animals. I love the idea of them loving something so small, gentle, and calm and hope it rubs off on them.

Reality - the cat is crazy! SHE (we got a girl to help balance the house) zips around the house, jumps on counters, and digs in the plants. But, she is sleeps with Linc each night and then comes to our bed. She snuggles on my lap when I am watching tv. And, the boys love her more than anything. They snuggle her, give her kisses, and spend a lot of time playing with her and her toys.
It is one more thing to clean up after, but she is worth it. We really chose a good one, and we are so happy to begin making some memories with our new pet, Addy Purple Brown. (Linc really wanted Purple to be the name but we convinced him that Addy was great - named after Addison Street in Chicago).
