Lincoln's favorite activity....to be outside! He quickly learned the way to the canal to feed the turtles which he loved and where the bocci ball courts were so he could play with the heavy balls. He liked the toys that GaGa had picked up for him and he would play with them for a bit, but after long he would be pounding on the door because he wanted out! Brian took him out each morning for a run or a walk in his stroller, and Gaga had the pleasure of taking him to the canal too (and even hitched a ride back on a golf cart one day!).
Grandpa kept the peace between the cat and Linc. Linc as usual was in love with his grandpa and would bring him toys, want to pet his cat, and pretend to be just like him in his chair while wearing Grandpa's hat.
Brian and I even found some quiet times when both boys were napping - one day we went to a bar to watch the first half of the UConn basketball game and even enjoyed a couple rounds of beer. We also went to the pool one day by ourselves and enjoyed the sunshine and quiet. I was happy for Brian too because he got out to the golf course with my dad and his friends, and for not picking up clubs very often he did quite well!
As a family, we took the boys to a couple different playgrounds, the beach, the pool, and out to get ice cream. One morning we went to a local breakfast place before the beach, and it was just such a great morning as a family of four. We are definitely in our groove and routine, and Brian and I compliment each other so well with juggling the responsibilities.
We looked forward to this trip for so long and then it flew by! The boys sure do love their grandparents, and we are so lucky to have a fun place to visit when the weather is cold. Don't worry, Grandpa and Gaga, we will be back and I know you will be ready for us!
