Apple Picking...well, Kind of.
We went to Lynd Fruit Farm over the weekend to celebrate the beginning of fall. It was about half an hour from our home and definitely in the country surrounding by cornfields! We knew Linc was too small to pick apples, but once we got there we realized he was really too small to do most of the fun "fall activities". There was a corn maze that was sure to be too difficult for us to maneuver with a toddler who wouldn't get the concept; a train ride that only held children, and Linc would not ride something like that by himself; and apple picking where he would just run away from us the entire time and force us to navigate rows upon rows of trees to find him. So, we ate apple doughnuts and paid $3 for him to play in a little play area they had set up. He did enjoy finding rocks, going in a little play house with the other kids, riding on the swing, and playing in a sand box. He has never been a fan of sand boxes (which doesn't disappoint me, I think they are big litter boxes at playgrounds), but he was intrigued by this sand box and the buckets. It was a fun way to welcome fall, and maybe next year we will leave with some apples for apple pies. And, by the way, Linc LOVED the apple doughnuts just as much as we did! :)
