9 Months!

Lincoln is 3/4 of the way to being a one-year-old!  He is an active, funny, happy, and loving boy who keeps us on our toes.  His daycare providers ADORE him, and he loves them too.  He is the highlight of my day and makes everyone he meets smile.

Lincoln was a little distracted during this photo session - not a lot of smiles and just wanted to crawl around and check EVERYTHING out!

Nine-month Facts about Lincoln

Lincoln loves to eat!  He eats three meals a day and a snack along with his bottles.  His favorite foods are sweet potatoes and applesauce.  He also eats:  oatmeal, scrambled eggs, meatballs, turkey, chicken, zucchini, sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans, peas, blueberries, apples, bananas, avocado, pears, pancakes, waffles, toast, and shrimp cocktail (kidding :).  He has not tried fish yet and does not like prepared baby food that contains meat.  I tried a jar or two of those on late nights from work, and he completely turns his nose up.

Lincoln finally has a tooth!  Technically, the tooth "popped" through a little after his birthday, but he has been working on this tooth for so long that I am going to consider it a 9-month present.  It is on the bottom and super sharp.

Lincoln is very affectionate.  He gives kisses, which means he eats your face.  He will crawl all around the living room and then come back to me just to lay his head in my lap.  He snuggles before bed, and he "pets" my hair while rocking in the rocking chair.  Lincoln is full-force with his affection - he will grab my hair, pull me in, and then attack my face with his open mouth kisses.  He evidentially does this with the new baby at Norma's - think we will have to be a little more careful now that he has a tooth - we don't want any bites taken out of baby Miles!

Lincoln sleeps well.  He is pretty consistent with his nap times and bedtime, although his naps still range in length.  He puts himself to sleep easily, and he rarely fusses when he is put into his crib awake.  He often sleeps on his belly with his butt up in the air - just like I did when I was little. :)

Lincoln does not stop moving.  He crawls, scoots, and rolls everywhere.  He is intrigued by everything that he should not be touching and is certain to find the one thing in the room that is not baby proofed.  I had to yell, "No" the other evening when he was ready to put his fingers in the socket that I had just used (and took the cover off of for one minute), and he looked at me and burst into tears.  I am not sure if it was my tone or  the word, but he was not happy hearing it.  Too bad he will be hearing it more and more as he learns and explores.

Lincoln loves splashing in the tub, Daddy hugs and kisses (more like tackling and wrestling), his pacifier as a comfort item, playing with any type of ball, being surprised, and smiling faces.  Strangers always comment on what a happy boy we have and we know we are so lucky to have him as our own!

We love you Lincoln Alan Brown.

It almost fits!!
