Lincoln Time

We spent late Sunday afternoon at the Kohl's Childrens Museum in Glenview.  It is a bit of a hike up the interstate to this suburb, but it was yet another cold day so we were willing to spend some time in the car.

Lincoln fell asleep on the way there which actually worked out because Brian and I were able to catch a bite to eat at the museum.  Neither one of us had eaten all day so we had a sandwich at the Cosi on site.  Linc woke up to children screeching with joy (and frustration for some of them), and he seemed really confused as to where he was!  Once he got all the way awake, I think he really enjoyed the different rooms at the museum.  He played in the water, hit some drums in the music room, and pushed a lot of buttons throughout the museum to demonstrate different scientific concepts. He had a lot of fun playing
with pegs and magnetic shapes, and he was really excited to play in the baby spaces spread throughout the museum.  I think his overall most favorite thing was...watching all of the children!  He was in awe of the sounds, movements, and smiles.  There was one baby room that had a window into a "big kid room", and Lincoln was so excited when kids would come up to the window and wave at him!  He smiled and wiggled his little feet.  It is really fun to see him happy around children, and I really am so thankful that he has had great experiences at Norma's with loud older children!  He is quite the social butterfly, and not to brag, but we always get cute baby comments too from parents because he is sure to flash a smile someone's way! :)

We gave the museum a three star rating, but I think he will have even more fun when he can crawl around a little more and walk around some of the exhibits.  It is also kind of far away for an hour and a half of play time.   But, it was a great way to spend a cold Sunday afternoon together and see Linc smile!
