36 Weeks
Lincoln is on the move and in the right direction! He took his first forward crawling movements this week, and he is loving being able to get to where he wants! He has a really funny crawl and makes a determined face while he does it. It makes me giggle every time!
Likes? Crawling, starting to feed himself small bites of food and crackers, and still clapping his hands
Dislikes? Still does not like getting dressed or diaper changes and leaving Ms. Norma's - he fusses every time I put him in his car seat to leave. He likes his friends!
Cute story: Brian was out of town Sunday through Tuesday. He got home late Tuesday, and he snuck up on Lincoln who was playing on the carpet. Brian said his name, and when Lincoln saw his Daddy, he immediately started to clap his hands and smile. It was the cutest thing and melted my heart for sure!
Monday (February 10th): Lincoln did not seem over tired early this morning. So we let him go to nap at his regular time. He played well. he did cough a little but nothing excessive. Today instead of screaming for his food, he screamed then laughed and laughed. Yasmin and I (Norma) though it was the most wonderful thing.
Tuesday: Baby Lincoln was on the floor on his tummy looking at Atticus. Wherever Atticus walked, Lincoln turned to that direction. He reminded me of a clock. He made a complete circle. Lincoln watched Atticus mumble to himself and made him laugh a few times. Lincoln hugs Atticus so tight and gives him big kisses on his face.
Wednesday: Lincoln sat in his high chair at snack time. I (Norma) handed him his toys while I settled Atticus at the play dough table. Lincoln threw each toy on the floor (how else can you learn about depth). So as I had to fix the snack, I gave Lincoln some puffs. He picked up each one with delicate precision. Then he popped 1, then 2, then 3 in his mouth all by himself. Yea!
Thursday: I (Norma) was changing Lincoln's diaper and talking to him at the same time. He has good eye contact so I tried to get him to imitate me. I stuck out my tongue and Lincoln stared at my mouth. I wiggled my tongue at him. He opened his mouth and stuck out his tongue at me. What a meaningful exchange! Later, Yasmin put on music for the older children to dance. Lincoln began to laugh and kick his feet. So we danced together. When I put him down, he began to play some maracas - very cute! But also, how smart of Lincoln. He has a music time each day with Yasmin so he knew was the music was about.
Friday: Baby Lincoln had a wonderful day! He was very happy and excited to work on his crawling. Sometimes, it seems that he crawls forward once and then he goes on reverse. He does really well on trying to reach out for a toy that is away from him. He rolls around, crawls, pauses to giggle and clap, but at the end he finally reaches that toy!
Monday (February 17th): Lincoln was out to entertain all of us today! He laughed and smiled at everyone and everything. He clapped his hands. He took a couple of crawling steps forward. He waved good-bye. He stuck his tongue out when I (Norma) did. Lincoln loved the big playroom today. He found a barn and silo with animals that he loved. How fun!
Tuesday: Whoa! Baby Lincoln left us in awe when we saw him crawling! We couldn't believe it! It all happened by accident. Yasmin had dropped her watch and Lincoln was on his tummy during tummy time. He became interested in the watch so he got up on all fours and crawled toward the watch and got it. He did it!
Wednesday: Lincoln can be enticed to crawl when he sees a shiny object like Yasmin's watch. He is picking up his finger food like a pro and popping them in his mouth. He enjoys the dancing and music session each day. Also, everyday when Atticus is sitting next to him in the high chairs, they reach toward each other and clasp hands. I (Norma) love to see this!
Thursday: For the first time, Lincoln and Max had a chance to play together one on one. Max (2-years-old) is so sweet to Lincoln! Max went over to Lincoln and rested his head on Lincoln's lap. Lincoln didn't mind at all. He embraced Max's head and gave a kiss. Aww...how adorable they are! Lincoln had a ball! He was crawling away from him thinking Max was chasing him. Lincoln laughed so much!
Friday: Baby Lincoln is a wiggle worm! He lets us know when he wants to be put down on the floor. He practically pushes himself off our arms to get down. Baby Lincoln may not talk yet, but he manages to get his message across of likes and dislikes. He did the funniest thing today! He crawled on top of Atticus as he sat on the floor. Lincoln knocked him right over and wanted to hug him. They looked like they were wrestling. [He gets this wrestling thing from his dad. Dad likes to wrestle with Lincoln too. - written by Brian :) ]
