Likes? Pretty much a theme through his seventh month of life - he likes to move and groove. He is figuring out how to get where he wants to go and get the toy he wants. He is still crawling backwards, but he will figure out the whole forward part soon. He also loves to take any two objects, pick them up in his hands, and bang them together. We have four little colored balls, and the balls fit perfectly in his hands for this game.
Dislikes? He is not a huge fan of fashion right now - or at least the getting dressed part. He squirms and complains through most clothing changes. We have some rattles and other toys by the changing table to distract him which usually helps.
These pictures are similar to the pictures above, but this is the order of events...
1. Mommy sits Lincoln up to play with the ball.
2. Lincoln flips onto his tummy to get a better view of the ball, but by doing so he accidentally pushes the ball away from him.
3. Lincoln tries to crawl toward the ball, but he ends up going backwards.
4. He gets distracted by some books...
5. Ball is forgotten about and on to some serious reading. This lasted about 30 seconds until he wanted me to come turn the page.
*See how I focused on the ball and made Linc blurry in the background? I am working on my camera skills in manual mode and practicing that shot ;)
Wednesday: Baby Lincoln and Atticus absolutely loved playing with the tunnel! Atticus went inside the tunnel and Lincoln sat at one end waiting on him. Lincoln was super excited to see Atticus move around inside the tunnel. When Atticus crawled out, Lincoln laughed and embraced Atticus. Too bad for Atticus because Lincoln grabbed a handful of his curls and made him cry - oops!
Thursday: Lincoln played and played with toys after breakfast. Three hours after he woke up, we put him down for a nap. He was upset with me (Norma). He cried and cried on and off for 45 minutes. I kept going up but he would taper off and when he saw me, cry again. Finally, he fell into a solid sleep at 10:15am until 1pm. I am thinking that generally speaking, he has a morning nap default time around 10am give or take a few minutes. We need a few more days to see if this is true or not. I would rather put him down when he is truly tired than have him cry for 45 minutes. When Lincoln woke up, he was the happiest baby. He smiled and laughed at everyone and everything! He is sitting so well now that he wants to play with all new toys. Yea!
Friday: Baby Lincoln played with his usual enthusiasm. He now sits up and pokes all of the buttons on the baby table. When he tires of this he rolls around and finds another intersting toy. We are encouraging him to pegs into the peg board, put balls in the ball drop, put blocks on blocks, etc. He loves to do all of these things and much more. What a difference sitting up makes!
Pictures below are of the our "cold days" last week with no school and no work for us!
