| Put some food in my mouth!! |
We spent our first Thanksgiving (and major holiday) as a family of three at The lovely Abbey Resort outside of Lake Geneva. Lake Geneva is a very popular beach spot for Chicagoians - it is nearby at only an hour and a half away, super cute, and has beautiful views. The Abbey Resort is on the quieter side of the lake and a short drive away from downtown. We felt like kings and a queen there - everyone loooooved Lincoln and the staff was so attentive to all of our needs. The resort was not super crowded which was nice since babies are not always quiet. There was a huge spa, indoor pool, game room, bars and restaurants, and a kid activity room where Brian and I used Lincoln as our token in to decorate sugar cookies one night. :)
Thanksgiving dinner was served on Thursday, and it was a smorgasbord of delicious food - everything from shrimp cocktail to carving stations of prime rib, ham, and turkey. They had the usual sides and a huge sweets table from which Brian and I ONLY had five servings of different pies. Lincoln had his first bite there as well - roasted sweet potato and judging from the video below, he is more than ready and excited to eat!

We loved The Abbey so much, that we decided to extend our trip by one more night. We spent the extra day/night by going into the downtown area and eating brunch and shopping. At night, we had a couple of drinks by the fire in the lobby, and Lincoln saw his first Christmas tree! He loved the lights and trying to eat the branches. We did find out that he does not like live flute music - they had a flutist in the lobby at night, and his little face crinkled up and he cried whenever she played. Coming from our happy boy who rarely cries, it was actually kind of funny.

| It was almost Lincoln's bedtime hence the froggy pajamas |
Although we really missed our families, this was one of our favorite memories to date. Lincoln has not had this much mom and dad time all together since he was born. He really soaked up the attention and enjoyed being spoiled by our love (if that is possible!). We are super excited to see our families in a few weeks and share our sweet baby boy with them then!
Enjoy the random pictures and video below!

| First time that Daddy wore Linc |
 |
| It was very cold on our walk around the little town, but Linc was nice and cozy! |
 |
| Very indifferent about the pool again although we think he will like it when he is older |
 |
| Looked like such a big boy in his puffy vest at the hotel bar :) |
 |
| Linc is loving touching our faces. He is pretty gentle until he finds the nose and then he shows off his grasp |
 |
| Right before he spit up ALL over me - and I only brought one pair of jeans. We had to spot wash the jeans in the sink before our fancy Thanksgiving dinner, and then I ate in wet stinky jeans. I was super underdressed - most people had on dresses, suits, and fur coats. Oh well - we had the cutest baby so that counted for something! |
Lincoln and his giggles - he has a very funny Daddy :)
