The zoo remains a favorite with the boys and we brought Nolan along one day as well. The cousins enjoyed the train (no surprise) and we took some different paths to shake the day up a bit. A success!
Columbus is home to many metroparks - beautiful green spaces in the urban area. I am running with "Walking Wednesday" to hold ourselves to hiking every Wednesday at a different metropark in Columbus. We went to Prairie Oaks this past Wednesday and really enjoyed the playground and a short trail. Ticks are on the rise this summer so I am a bit overprotective with spray, socks tucked into pants, and hats, but it is all worth it to be safe :)
Sarah and I also went to Batelle and visited the Nature Center as well as did a very short walk to the watershed area (river). Did not see any buffalo though :)
The last adventure(s) has been the pool. We bought a summer membership, and I wasn't sure how often we would use it but we have been there four times in the last week and a half. The boys quickly found their ground after we found "puddlejumpers" which are floaties for their arms and chest. Linc is becoming quite the fish and Declan is confident enough to jump in! Brian is really enjoying his time with the boys in the pool too. Smiles all around :)
Lincoln also got a really good shiner this weekend - jumping in the bounce house at a party with his sunglasses on didn't go so well...
Last but not least - Sandlot was on the other day during rest time. Lincoln absorbed the movie, imagining himself trying to get that ball back, and shook with excitement when they did! Truly loving this little guy and the baseball loving fan he is becoming!
