We kicked off the Easter holiday with a local egg hunt. The boys didn't really "get it" and only got a couple of eggs, but Linc was lucky and got an egg with a ticket in it to win a little toy truck.
We felt so fortunate to welcome my mother up for the holiday (and really missed our Baba!). Gaga and Gigi both helped us help the children dye eggs. I made a really big deal about the "magic" of the eggs changing colors and of course Linc loved that the eggs were purple :)
Easter morning started a little early - 7am. Linc immediately picked up his basket and got to work. It took Declan a little bit more encouragement to look for the eggs, but once he realized that the eggs had candy in them he was good to go. They LOVED looking high and low for the eggs, and Brian and I had a lot of fun hiding them the night before.
One of the presents in the Easter basket was an egg...you had to soak it in water and wait. Super tricky for an inpatient child. We made our predictions of what would hatch and after about 12 hours, the egg began cracking. Linc was sooooooo excited. His prediction of a chicken wasn't too far off (and made sense with logical thinking) but an Easter Bunny hatched. Then we measured the bunny and kept track of the growth (it grew more the longer it stayed in the water). A lot of fun with some academics stuck in.
The only photo we got of my sister and her kiddo...
We hosted Easter dinner. It was chaotic with the three boys, but I was really proud of the dinner table and the meal. Everyone enjoyed the food, and the boys had a great time chasing each other and doing everything except eating.
The chaos of dinner...
Next holiday to enjoy....Memorial Day? Lincoln's 4th birthday? 4th of July? A lot of fun ahead!
