December Photo and Video Dump

December has been pretty busy with Brian's crazy work schedule, settling in with Declan and his needs, and Lincoln changing his nap schedule to one nap and sleeping in a little later (knock on wood!).  On top of some rainy days and some cold days, we have been trying to find ways to stay busy that doesn't involve too much outside time and is manageable for me with two small kiddos.  We have spending most mornings at the YMCA and Declan can now go to daycare with Lincoln.  Funny enough, the first morning that Declan went to the Y Lincoln got very protective and upset if any of the other children went to see the new baby.  The second morning he got upset that one of his favorite teachers held Declan.  So he is dealing with some baby jealousy and big brother protectiveness, but he is dealing so well with his feelings.

Below are some photos and videos that sum up our last couple of weeks and I will soon post Lincoln's 18 month stats and Declan's 2 month doctor visit (a little early due to the holidays).

Lincoln finally learned how to drink from a straw.  It happened by accident.  I still use the hospital cup to drink water (it holds a ton and has a handy straw which is much easier to use than trying to drink water over a nursing baby), and Lincoln walked by the cup one day, picked it up and started sucking.  We were so surprised because we tried a couple of straws early on during Lincoln's intro to sippy cup phase but could not find one that he could work.  To celebrate his new straw freedom, we bought him a milkshake.  You should have seen his face when that ice cream first hit his lips instead of water!  Pretty cute :)

Speaking of ice cream, we celebrated Linc's half birthday (1.5) by going to the zoo and then getting Culverized.  Culvers is a great hamburger and custard place, and Linc loved his half birthday treat!  By the way - notice Linc's half spiky mohawk...Brian's new do for our big boy :)

Brian gave Declan his first bottle, and Declan took it like a champ!  He got a little gassy after and we have since switched bottle types, but Declan now drinks a bottle before bed.  We think he drinks more and it helps him sleep a longer stretch.  Not sure if it is true, but it is working and Brian likes to have that time with Declan while Momma gets a shower and has some time to herself too.  Below is one of many Declan smiles.  He is so serious, but when he does break into a smile it is contagious.  His whole face lights up and you can't help but smile back!

We can always find ways to amuse ourselves :)

Silly Lincoln!
