Happy Birthday, Sweet Boy!

My sweet Lincoln turned 4 and I can hardly wrap my head around having a BIG four-year-old. He is smart, funny, and super cute, and Lincoln knows all of the above :)

Linc's "dream" present - a cat named Cubbie :)

A few things about Lincoln at four...

He is a charmer. He makes friends wherever he goes, and he pulls people into his world. He can play with friends who are much older than him, connect with his family members, and also be the "helper" with his cousin Nolan. His smile shines, and his personality just radiates from him.

Lincoln is an okay eater - within his four or so food groups. Mac and cheese is a hit or miss, noodles are pretty consistently good, pizza is always a winner, and he will eat most fruits. He really only eats edamame and brocoli, but as he gets older the is trying more and more. If you tell him that his muscles will get bigger then he will at least take a bite.

Lincoln gave up his nap about three months ago, and it was the best thing to happen to his night sleep. He now falls asleep about 7:45pm and sleeps until 6:30pm.

Lincoln talks. That short sentence is one that I feared I would never say (or type). He tells stories, he sings songs, and he converses with his brother, and he get his needs across to anyone he meets. He still has some speech substitutions but he "graduated" from his IEP and no longer qualifies for speech. Tonight Lincoln wanted to read me a story and tell me a story - and that he did. He spoke for more than 10 minutes straight, and his confidence is evident.

Lincoln is a boys boy. He LOVES any sport and is really good at anything he tries. Baseball is his favorite right now, and he is in heaven when the whole family plays baseball. Lincoln watches his Cubs every morning on replay, and he says goodnight to his Kris Bryant baseball card before bed :)

Lincoln has stolen hearts since he was born. As he gets older, he is an absolute joy to be around. His charm and love for life is contagious, and I am so happy I get to spend my days with him.

I love you too much, Lincoln Alan Brown.
